| Belinda
graduated from Sydney University, Cumberland Campus
in 1993, with a degree in Speech Pathology. She completed
her Masters in Applied Linguistics in 1996 at Macquarie
University. Her dissertation focused on ASD (Autism
Spectrum Disorder), in particular, Semantic Pragmatic
Disorder.
Belinda established Belinda Hill & Associates Speech
Language Pathologists in 1995 to assist children, adolescents
and adults with communication and literacy impairments.
She has worked closely with numerous associates in her
team. The practice has grown to include 4 full time
speech-language pathologists, an office assistant, full
time receptionist and practice manager.
Belinda’s
particular areas of interest include verbal dyspraxia
(also known as CAS-childhood dyspraxia of speech), holding
the position of Vice President of the Australian Dyspraxia
Support Group from 1998-2001.
She
has a personal and professional interest in ASD and
so is consistently devising new programs to assist children
with difficulties with play, socializing and communication.
She has created language programs using computers, videos
and visual systems with children requiring a non traditional
approach to therapy. |
